A day long Workshop was held on 13th March 2024 under the Chairmanship of Sh. Pratul Saxena, Project Director, Atal Bhujal Yojana. Training data variation in the "Training and Workshop" Modules in MIS were thoroughly reviewed and discussed in detail with all the Social/IEC Experts who are considered as ‘Training Focal Persons’ and MIS Experts from all the participating states i.e Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
To make all participants understand the issues and gaps in the training data and to rectify the issues, NPMU presented a comprehensive presentation having specific issues of each state followed by hands on demonstration of Training Modules in MIS. Later, all participants were facilitated in understanding the process of data correction.

On 27th February 2024, Atal Bhujal Yojana SPMU Rajasthan organized a one-day workshop in Jaipur. The workshop was graced by the presence of Dr. Samit Sharma, Secretary, Ground Water Department, Government of Rajasthan and Padmashree Shyam Sundar Paliwal from Piplantri Gram Panchayat, Rajasamand. The workshop was attended by Sh. Pratul Saxena Project Director, Dr. Raghav Langer Director, officers and experts from NPMU, SPMU, DPMU, DIPs working in Rajasthan, President of Dharti Foundation, progressive farmers of Rajasthan along with agriculture supervisors from 38 blocks and village development officer from Panchayati Raj Department. A total of 750 participants attended the meeting.
The main objective of the workshop was to ensure the active participation and involvement of the line departments for successful implementation of the scheme in a time bound manner. The programme was presided over by Dr. Samit Sharma; he expressed concern over the depleting ground water level in the State of Rajasthan. He emphasized the need for collection and harvesting of rainfall water and construction of suitable recharge structures through technical means of rainwater harvesting so that the magnitude of water crisis can be avoided in future.
Sh. Shyam Sundar Paliwal shared his lifelong work which contributed in transforming the situation of Piplantri village and improved the ground water level significantly. Progressive farmer and president of FPO, Nagri, Chittorgarh expressed his gratitude for the Project which motivated him to take up efficient farming methods resulting in economic benefit.
On 28th February 2024, a field visit was carried out by NPMU team to Amarpura & Nagal Bharada grampanchayats, Gobindgarh Block, Jaipur. The team interacted with community members, Sarpanch, Anganwadi workers, DIPs, Community Resource Persons and progressive farmers regarding the initiatives taken under Atal Jal in their Gram Panchayat and the requirement & issues of community. The team also visited the field of demand side beneficiaries under Atal Bhujal Yojana along with the supply side interventions.

On 19th and 20th February, 2024, Shri Pratul Saxena, Project Director, Dr. Raghav Langer, Director, and Shri PC Kumawat, Agriculture Specialist from NPMU Atal Bhujal Yojana, visited Andhra Pradesh to have an understanding on the community-managed natural farming (APCNF) run by the Rythu Sadhikara Samstha (RYSS). RYSS is a non-profit entity established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh under Section 8. The team was accompanied by Shri Rama Rao, Retired IAS and CEO, Shri Samuel Anand, Retired IAS and Executive Director of RYSS alongwith officers and experts from the State and District Project Management Units of RYSS. The purpose of the visit was to look into the practices of natural farming, its effects on water conservation, crop yield, economic benefits and the overall livelihood and wellness of the farmers involved. They aimed to assess the feasibility of incorporating these practices into the Atal Bhujal Yojana for broader application and sustainability. The team visited the natural farming fields in the Krishna and Eluru districts, engaging in comprehensive discussions with farmers and Self-Help Group (SHG) members. These conversations covered a range of topics, including the awareness and adoption of different natural farming techniques, the models being implemented, necessary inputs and their local availability, the extent of farmer participation in natural farming, support mechanisms provided by RYSS and the comparative advantages of natural farming over traditional agricultural methods. They explored the impact of these practices on crop yield, farm economics, and water efficiency. A meeting was also held with RYSS staff and field operatives to gain insights into the execution strategies, human resource management and the roles of various cadres in rolling out the APCNF program effectively.

On February 19th, 2024, the team of Officers, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of Mizoram visited the World Bank office, engaging in insightful discussions focusing on the Grievance Redressal Management System (GRMS) of Atal Bhujal Yojana. The primary aim was to gain valuable insights into best practices and methodologies employed in grievance redressal, particularly within the context of Mizoram's development initiatives. The discussions provided the team with valuable insights into various aspects of the GRMS, including its design, implementation, and effectiveness. Learning from the experiences and expertise of World Bank officials is expected to contribute significantly to enhancing Mizoram's own grievance redressal mechanisms. Subsequently, on February 20th, 2024, a virtual meeting organized by NPMU, Atal Bhujal Yojana officials and experts facilitated the team of officers from Govt of Mizoram learning from the Grievance Redressal Management System (GRMS) implemented under the Atal Bhujal Yojana. The meeting aimed to foster cross- learning and exchange of experiences between the Mizoram Health Systems Strengthening Project and the Atal Bhujal Yojana. During the session, officers and experts from the State Project Management Unit (SPMU) of Atal Jal shared their insights and expertise in managing grievances, covering various aspects such as grievance classification, modes of disposal, feedback mechanisms, and record maintenance. This interactive session proved to be fruitful, providing valuable insights for the Mizoram team in developing a Grievance Redressal System tailored to their project's requirements. It served as an excellent platform for mutual learning and collaboration between the two projects. Overall, both visits were immensely beneficial, offering valuable insights that will contribute to enhancing Grievance Redressal Mechanisms within Mizoram's development projects.

Five progressive farmers hailing from different villages of Chikkaballapura and Hassan District of Karnataka, paid a visit to Atal Bhujal Yojana NPMU, New Delhi on February 13th, 2024. These farmers expressed their deep appreciation for the process of community engagement in the preparation of water budgets and water security plans. They fondly recalled the informative training sessions, vibrant "Kala Jatha" gatherings, pamphlet distributions, and captivating wall paintings of the Atal Jal.
They enthusiastically informed the Project Director of the tangible benefits they have witnessed after the scheme implementation. Their wells showed a rise in groundwater levels, leading to increased crop productivity and yield, subsequently enhancing their economic & well-being. Considering these positive outcomes, the farmers extended heartfelt gratitude to the Atal Bhujal Yojana, urging for its continued expansion throughout their state, envisioning a future where its benefits reach every corner, contributing to sustainable agricultural practices and enhanced livelihoods.
The Atal Jal team expressed gratitude to the farmers for their visit and the generous words they shared, which brought a renewed sense of stimulus.

On 7th February, 2024, a meeting was convened under the Chairpersonship of Ms. Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, with the District Collectors & CEOs Zila Parishad of the districts covered under the Atal Bhujal Yojana. The meeting was attended by 70 District Collectors/ CEOs Zila Parishad/ representatives from the District Administration of Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh States along with Joint Secretary (A, IC & GW), DoWR, RD & GR, higher officers from the participating States and NPMU, Atal Bhujal Yojana. At the outset, the Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation emphasized the spirit of the program, stating that it stands as the largest pilot program globally, with a focus on demand-side management through community participation. She emphasized the importance of incorporating innovation via smart agriculture and irrigation technologies and the need to document the best practices, emphasizing inter-state peer learning for large-scale replication. The DCs/CEOs Zila Parishad of Mehsana, Sirsa, Ramanagara, Niwari, Nagpur, Rajsamand and Shamli districts of Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh State respectively, presented the best practices adopted for ground water management in their districts.

On 21.01.24, Dr Raghav Langer, Director, Atal Bhujal Yojana along with Shri Shantanu Garg, NPMU expert, visited Lakshmipura GP of Ramnagara district, Karnataka for understanding the WSP preparation and data disclosure activities. He conducted the inspection of various demand and supply side structures in Ramnagara district of Karnataka. Later , he visited Narsapura pumping station and tank of KC Valley project and interacted with the community to understand the working of treated water project. He appreciated the efforts and direct indirect benefits people are getting from this project.
On 22.01.24, Dr. Raghav Langar, Director, Atal Bhujal Yojana chaired a meeting with the Project Director, officers & experts of SPMU, Karnataka. The Joint Director of Agriculture and representatives from MI and the Watershed Departments also attended the meeting. Comprehensive, point-wise review and discussions were held and he emphasised on innovation in both demand and supply side activities. He guided the line departments and subject experts to propose innovative technologies and utilization of incentive money in such practices. He also suggested the Joint Director of Agriculture Department to propose high-value crops with market linkage scope. Director, Atal Bhujal Yojana also directed SPMU to create model GPs with integrated interventions and immediate reallocation of pending funds to other department.
Later, he met with Secretary, Minor Irrigation Department, Sh. Yatheeshchandran, at Vikas Soudha and briefed him about the morning meeting with SPMUs. He requested more support and follow up for Atal Bhujal Yojana from Secretary MI's side.

Smt. Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary and Project Coordinator Shri. Subodh Yadav, Joint Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation(DoWR,RD & GR), Ministry of Jal Shakti visited the state of Madhya Pradesh from 18th January to 19th January, 2024 to review the progress of various activities taken under Atal Bhujal Yojana in Madhya Pradesh. The following officials from Government of India and Government of Madhya Pradesh were also present during the visit: Shri. Manish Singh, Principal Secretary, Water Resource Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Pratul Saxena, Project Director, NPMU, Dr. Jitendra Jain, Project Director, SPMU, Shri. Sandeep, Collector of Chhattarpur district and Smt. Akansha Kushwaha, Assistant Director, NPMU.
Field visits were undertaken on the first day in the Gram Panchayats of Salaiya and Pipariya of Raj Nagar Block, in district Chhattarpur, Madhya Pradesh and discussions were held with the villagers & DIPs regarding awareness about Atal Jal scheme and status of groundwater in these Gram Panchayats.
On the second day, a review meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Smt. Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary with the Principal Secretary, Water Resource Department, SPMU & DPMU officials and experts and officials of Line Departments. In the meeting, the progress status of activities under Atal Bhujal Yojana in the state of Madhya Pradesh was briefed by Dr. Jitender Jain, Project Director, Madhya Pradesh and directions were given by the Secretary, DoWR, RD & GR to improve the performance of the States under the scheme.

A review meeting was held at GWRDC Gandhinagar, Gujarat by Deputy Director of Atal Jal on 28th and 29th December 2023. State Nodal Officer of Gujarat with the Officers and Experts of SPMU attended the meeting. During the meeting, progress and issues of various aspects under Atal Bhujal Yojana like Incentive Fund utilization, procurement of equipment, data filling in MIS, status of data validation by State, training, IEC activities, social management, issues in MADB, issues with Water level monitoring, rainfall data , data integration, CRP identification, progress under various DLIs were discussed and directions were given accordingly. Filed visit was conducted in G.P Acharasan & Adraj of Block Kadi, District Mahesana. Field verification of DLI 3 & 4 was done along with site visit of crop diversification. Deputy Director emphasised to farmers to come forward to adopt Micro Irrigation and Crop Diversification. He has also suggested to farmers for Farm-pond. Inauguration of Block level training at WALMI Gandhinagar was also done. Topic covered during the training was FTK demonstrations, ground water related equipment’s, water efficiency, and collaboration among PGWMC, CRPs, and line departments. The meeting concluded in useful discussions for overcoming the challenges and accelerate effective implementation of the scheme in the State.

On 27th December 2023, Director-NPMU Atal Jal, conducted a review meeting of SPMU Maharashtra. The meeting was attended by Additional Director-GDSA, State nodal person, representatives from GSDA, SPMU, Support Agency (SA), and affiliated representatives from line departments. A brief presentation on the status and challenges of Atal Jal was provided by the state. A detailed discussion was done on Convergence, Incentive fund utilization, IEC, and importance of prioritizing work among the line departments to speed up the progress for Atal Bhujal Yojana implementation in Maharashtra. Directions were given by the Project Director to achieve the DLIs targets along with the suggestion to create Model villages alongside these efforts. A visit was conducted to Yashda, Pune to review GP level training. A detailed discussion regarding quality and effectiveness of GP level was done and ways to improvise training plan was also discussed. Along with this, a separate meeting was conducted with all the experts, Community mobilizers and Master trainers of DPMU and Implementation partner, to know the training quality and challenges faced during the training. On 28th December 2023, a visit to G.P Udachiwadi, Block- Purandar, of District Pune was made. Interaction with Sarpanch, GP members and cadres was done regarding training at GP level. Further visit to artificial recharge shaft sites, rain gauge station, and piezometer site was done.

A review was conducted on 22nd December 2023 at SPMU Uttar Pradesh by Assistant Director, NPMU Atal Bhujal Yojana. In the meeting, discussion related to various issues and challenges regarding implementation of Atal Jal were made. The discussion focused on incentive fund utilization and data updation in incentive module, DLI 3 and 4 progress, adoption of innovative practices using incentive fund, updation of WSP, current status of IEC activities, CRP identification and training of existing CRP, utilization of equipment- Issues with Water level monitoring/water quality data/WFM/Rainfall, issues in MADB data validation, verification status of 7th TPGVA round, MIS and Training related issues, along with discussion on GP ranking. During the discussion of issues and challenges with the state direction was provided for the necessary action to be taken by SPMU.

A meeting to review the status of implementation of the scheme and to address the issues in Haryana, was conducted by Ms. Neety Nayar, Deputy Director, National Program Management Unit (NPMU), Atal Bhujal Yojana at SPMU, Haryana on 22nd December, 2023. The officers and experts from SPMU, Haryana and senior officers from the concerned line departments were present in the meeting. The major issues discussed during the meeting included Status of Incentive fund utilization, Gram Panchayat coverage under various DLIs, Status of Trainings and IEC activities, Assessment of GP level training and training agencies, details related to CRPs and plan for organizing the workshop for the identified CRPs, preparatory activities on updation of WSP for the FY 2024-25, status of data collection and validation (All types of data), data entry issues in MIS & Mobile app and other issues related to scheme implementation on ground. The meeting concluded in fruitful discussions for overcoming the hindrances and effective implementation of the scheme in the State.

A review meeting was held at SPMU Bangalore by Deputy Director of Atal Jal and State Nodal Officer of Karnataka with the Officers and Experts of SPMU on 18th December 2023. The meeting was also attended by the Project Director, SPMU. During the meeting, progress and issues of various aspects under Atal Bhujal Yojana like Incentive Fund utilization, procurement of equipment, data filling in MIS, status of data validation by State, training, IEC activities, social management, issues in MADB, issues with Water level monitoring, rainfall data , data integration, CRP identification, progress under various DLIs were discussed and directions were given accordingly. Field visit was carried out on 19th & 20th December, 2023 to interact with the communities to understand the awareness among the villagers about the activities of Atal Bhujal Yojana. Various demand & supply side activities through convergence and incentive funds, mode of data disclosure, and utilization of equipments are verified during gram panchayat visit. NPMU Officer also interacted with the beneficiaries of PVTG community to understand their requirement and issues. The field observations & issues raised by the community were finally discussed with the Project director, SPMU for necessary action.

"Atal Bhujal Yojana" a unique scheme by Govt. of India, Ministry of Jal Shakti, DOWR, RD&GR has been conferred with SKOCH Award in gold category. The award was received by Project Director and Director Atal Jal on 18 th November 2023 at New Delhi. The award recognises outstanding contribution and achievements of the scheme for sustainable ground water management with community participation in identified water stress area in seven states. The Award is a reflection of all seven state's dedication in scheme implementation and putting their untiring efforts in setting an example as to how the groundwater can be best managed by building the capacity of the stakeholders.

9th Vibrant India, 2023 and concurrent shows 'Agri and Horti Expo' 'Global organic and natural farming expo' and 'Asia Dairy and Fisheries Expo' was organised from 3rd to 5th November, 2023 at Dilli Haat, Pitampura, New Delhi. It was organized to highlight achievements and Public Welfare Policies of the Government. A stall was placed in the event where Officers of Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) and Experts of NPMU, Atal Jal participated in the occasion on behalf of Department of Water Resources (DoWR), River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. Information related to various components and activities of Atal Bhujal Yojana was showcased. The stall was awarded 1st prize for Sustainable Development and Management of Ground water Resources. More than 140 visitors visited the stall. The expo was a successful event and visitors received information on various Governmental Schemes and Policies.

Two days National Level training cum workshop titled "Data analysis, validation & integration with WIMS" was organised on 30th & 31st October, 2023 at NPMU Atal Jal. The participants in the training included concerned Officers & Experts from the SPMU Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The training began with an emphasis on the importance and utility of data by the Project Director, NPMU, Atal Jal. The training sessions were conducted by Deputy Directors, TSA Team Leader, Geologist, Water Quality expert, Environmental Expert and Social Expert of NPMU, Atal Jal. On day one, the training began with an overview of the national perspective and state wise progress of data collection, validation and integration. As the day progressed various topics such as analysis & validation of Well Inventory data, Groundwater level monitoring data, Groundwater quality data, Rainfall data, Geotagging of ARS & WCS structure being captured through the “Atal Jal” Mobile app were covered and communicated to the participants. On second day, the training focused on the analysis and validation of water flow meter data which will be used further in water budgeting and water security plan. The installation of water flow meter in every Gram Panchayat of Atal Jal was emphasised. A session on DWLR data integration and related issues were also addressed in presence of the representative from NWIC. This was followed by a session on the Social events captured through mobile app. The training concluded with directions from the Project Director, NPMU to give due attention on regular monitoring as well as validation of the data for its effective use and public disclosure.

The 5 th meeting of the National Level Steering Committee (NLSC) of Atal Bhujal Yojana and wrap up meeting for World Bank Support Mission was held on 26.10.2023 at New Delhi under the chairmanship of Secretary, Department of Water Resources, RD & GR, Ministry of Jal Shakti. The meeting was attended by Senior Officers of 7 States where the scheme is being implemented as well as concerned line departments. Special Secretary, Gujarat, Joint Director, Maharashtra, Principal Secretary and Additional Secretary, Madhya Pradesh and Secretary ,Namami Gange ,Uttar Pradesh also attended the meeting. The meeting started with a joint presentation done by World Bank & NPMU on "Utility of water flow meter-A study of Haryana". The meeting progressed as the Committee reviewed the follow up actions on the decision taken during the 4 th NLSC meeting and the overall progress of the scheme followed with discussion on various issues and challenges. Direction was given to the states to expedite procurement of equipments, incentive fund utilization as well as the convergence for implementation of the intervention proposed under Water Security Plan (WSP). The Secretary, DoWR, RD & GR emphasised that Atal bhujal Yojana is a convergence program and is the only initiative that is focusing on the demand side management and sought to induce behavioural change within community. To achieve this, it is important to involve civil societies and enhance their capacities along with strengthening the existing partner organization. Creating community awareness on ground water situation is a fundamental step to sustained behavioural change. Prioritization of water budgeting needs to be the central point of discussion and should be replicated in every village of the seven States under the scheme. States were also directed to document the best practices being implemented under the scheme. The NLSC meeting was followed by wrap up of World Bank Implementation Support Mission. The Task Team Leader for the scheme summarised the month long mission in terms of overall findings and recommendations on future steps. All Seven States also presented the ‘Emerging Impacts of Atal Bhujal Yojana’ in their respective State and highlighted the change in ground water management & behavioural changes in communities. The meeting concluded with a detailed presentation by Council Council of India (QCI) on verification processes of DLIs to be conducted in the gram panchayats under Atal Bhujal Yojana. All the parameters for verification process and support required from DPMU/SPMU were also shared.

World Bank review of Karnataka State took place on 29th September 2023. Sh. Vinayak Bhat, Director (GW), and Sh. Jitesh Tatiwal, Dy. Director, from NPMU, Atal Jal, visited Javanagondanahalli Gram Panchayat in the Hiriyur Block, District Chitradurga. Their primary objective was to conduct a comprehensive review of the activities carried out under the Atal Bhujal Yojana. On 30th September 2023, Atal Jal progress was discussed and assessed by the World Bank team, in Bengaluru. This meeting brought together a virtual gathering of Nodal officers from the DPMU, officials representing various line departments, as well as experts from DPMU and DIP. During the meeting, World Bank and NPMU teams provided guidance on achieving different DLIs and measures to track the project impact. In a meeting with the Secretary of the Minor Irrigation & Groundwater Development Department, the World Bank team presented an update on the progress of Atal Bhujal Yojana and discussed in greater detail about the strategies aimed at achieving the various DLIs outlined in the project.

A team of Officers & experts from World Bank & NPMU visited the State of Gujarat on 25th & 26th September, 2023 to review the activities taken under Atal Bhujal Yojana. Sh Satya Priya, Team Leader and Sh. Tapas Paul, Expert of World Bank, Sh. Pratul Saxena, Project Director of NPMU Mrs. Neety Nayar, Dy. Director from NPMU, and Sh. Jitendra Singh, Environmental Expert were part of the review program. The team visited two gram panchayats Jorajinamuvada and Motisari in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat and assessed the implementation of both the supply and demand aspects under the Atal Bhujal. The team also interacted with the local community in presence of Sarpanch, and members of the PGWMC in both villages. Meeting of line departments was done in Motesari GP under the leadership of the District Collector, where he emphasized the importance of achieving targets within set timelines. The visit also included discussions and meetings in Gujarat, attended by Sh. R.M. Patel, Project Director, Sh. Pinakin Vyas, SE SPMU, District Collector, Sh. Nainesh Dave, and officers from various line departments. On the second day, discussions regarding Gujarat's progress in implementing the Atal Bhujal Yojana was carried out with the Senior officers from diverse departments who shared their plans to ensure the achievement of the targets. Sh. Satya Priya and Sh. Pratul Saxena stated the importance of adhering to the project schedule and the possibility of re-planning if required. The need for grassroots-level training to enhance the program's effectiveness was also emphasized. Sh. R.M. Patel, Project Director of SPMU, provided an insight to the water resource development planning using maps as visual aids.

A team of Officers & Experts from World Bank and NPMU, Atal Bhujal Yojana visited the State of Haryana from 21st to 22nd September, 2023 for reviewing the status of activities being performed under the scheme. The team visited two Gram Panchayats namely Subhri and Rambha located in Block and District of Karnal, Haryana and interacted with the community members, representatives of the Village Water and Sanitation Committees, DIP and the farmers who have adopted efficient irigation and agriculture practices in their fields. Emphasis was given to understand the process of data collection , calculation of water budget during updation of Water Security Plans (WSP), participation of women in plan preparation and awareness creation. Discussion was also held on the issues being faced by the beneficiaries which are hindering the adoption of efficient irrigation practices by the farmers at large scale. After the field visit, a meeting was held with the ADC, Karnal and the officials of DPMUs & line departments associated with the implementation of Atal Bhujal scheme. On September 22nd meetings were held with Chairperson, Haryana Water Resource Authority, Commissioner cum Secretary, Irrigation & water Resources and Advisor , Irrigation Department, Haryana and a brief of the State's progress & issues were highlighted. The progress status of Haryana under various aspects was discussed with the Project Director, SPMU , Haryana and the officials of Line departments and emphasis was given to expedite the activities . Meeting was also held with Officers & Experts of DPMU & DIPs and direction was given regarding prepartion of WSPs and identification of well performing gram panchayats for transforming them into Model Gram Panchayats.

The Officers of World Bank & NPMU ,Atal Bhujal Yojana visited the state of Uttar Pradesh from September 18 to 19, 2023 to know the status of activities being performed under Atal Bhujal scheme . The team visited two gram panchayats of Meerut district- Panch Gaon Patti Amarsingh and Kamaalpur of Block, Rajpura on 18th September 2023 and interacted with around 150 people of both gram panchayat. The community was well aware regarding the ongoing activity of Atal Bhujal Yojana and the importance of efficient use of ground water. The discussion laid emphasis on updation of the Water security plans and involvement of communities in the project activities. As sugarcane is the main cash crop in the region of UP, and traditional irrigation practice has led to the exploitation of ground water resources. Hence, use of water saving techniques such as drip and sprinkler was promoted among the community and its importance was stressed upon. The visit then followed by a meeting with the District administration where a brief of Atal Bhujal Yojana was shared and the key parameters essential in driving the project for a result based outcome was discussed. A defined way forward was made in collaboration with the Agriculture Department on how to expedite the ground water resource management work all across the district. On 19th September, a wrap up meeting was conducted at SPMU, Lucknow in presence of all SPMU Officers & Experts ,DIPs and officers of Line Departments. The meeting was chaired by Sh. V.K. Upadhyay, Director, Ground Water Department, UP. A presentation was made on the status of various DLI’s along with a separate presentation on Environmental Safeguards tools and progress status of Social Audit with its findings.

The World Bank Implementation Support Mission in Maharashtra State, which took place from September 13th to 15th, began with an extensive meeting attended by various officials from World Bank, SPMU and dignitaries. Dr. V. K Pakhmode, Additional Director of GSDA, welcomed the attendees, and Dr. Pravin Kathane, Joint Director & State Coordinator (Atal), presented an in-depth overview of Maharashtra's Atal Jal Journey. The meeting covered several key topics, including the procurement and installation status of DWLR, WFM tendering, GP level training progress, IEC activities planning for 2023-24, WSP preparation, emerging impacts, demand and supply-side works planning, and the sharing of best practices and case studies by Deputy Directors, Senior Geologists, and DIP Coordinators. The visit also included interactions with villagers in Pune District's Karhati and Sonori Gram Panchayats, where the importance of water conservation, water budgets, and water security plans was emphasized. The officials commended the efforts made by the communities and pledged support for their groundwater management initiatives. The field visit was a collaborative effort involving various experts and government representatives, aiming to make these villages’ model examples of water conservation and management.

A joint team of World Bank and NPMU headed by Sh. Satya Priya, Task Team Leader and Sh. Pratul Saxena, Project Director , Sh M. K. Goyal, State Coordinator, World Bank ,Sh Sujit Sinha , NTSA Head and Shantanu Garg Gender & Capacity Building Specialist, NPMU visited the State of Rajasthan on 12th & 13th September,2023 for World Bank Review Mission . Meeting was held with Chief Secretary, Smt. Usha Sharma. Sh Subodh Aggarwal, ACS along with Officers from SPMUs & Line Departments and critical discussions were carried out on the outputs and outcomes of the scheme so far, updates on various activities, challenges and gaps in Atal Jal Rajasthan. The team also held a discussion a meeting with DPMU and DIPs regarding several issues persisting in the State under Atal Bhujal Yojana. Timelines, roles & responsibilities were fixed to solve the pending issues and suggested ways for smooth implementation of the Scheme. A field visit was carried out to Alooda and Lahri ka bas Gram panchayats, Block Nangal Rajawatan of Dausa district. Officers from Line Department, Village Development Officer, Sarpanch, Secretary, President and members of the VWSC along with farmers and community members participated in the meeting alongwith NPMU and world bank team. The community members were informed about various demand and supply side activities for groundwater management, importance of their role of in preparation of Water Security Plans, especially the women and other deprived sections of the society, usage of mobile app, IEC & capacity building activities. The team also visited supply side structures , piezometer & interacted with farmers.

The members of the World Bank along with the NPMU officials, visited the state of Madhya Pradesh from September 4 & 5, 2023 to know the status of activities being performed under Atal Bhujal scheme. During the mission period, discussions were held with the Principal Secretary, Water Resources Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, CEO Niwadi Zila parishad and the officials of SPMU, DPMU, DIP and line departments associated with the implementation of Atal Jal . The team visited two Gram Panchayats namely Kumaharra Khas and Bhamoura located in Niwadi Block, District Niwadi, Madhya Pradesh. In both the GPs, discussions were held with the community members, representatives of the Village Water and Sanitation Committees and DIPs. Main emphasis of the discussion was to know the process being followed for calculation of water budget & updating the Water Security Plan consisting of the Demand side and Supply side interventions proposed by the community members during finalization of Water Security Plan. Participation of women in the entire process of creating awareness about the Atal Bhujal scheme and its various components including their representation in the Village Water and Sanitation Committee and participation in the decision making process was the focal point of the discussions and assessment. The supply side and demand side intervention sites along with the equipment / instrument already installed like piezometers, rain gauge stations were also visited in these Gram Panchayats.

SPMU, Maharashtra has organized a two days training cum workshop at IISER, Pune, Maharashtra from 4 th to 5 th September,2023. The State level training was inaugurated by Dr. Pravin Kathane, Joint Director, Mr. R.S Gosaki, Nodal Officer, SPMU , Ms. Madhumanti Roy, Deputy Director and Mr. Shantanu Garg Gender and Training Expert, NPMU – Atal Bhujal Yojana. The Training Workshop featured active participation from 95 officers, experts, DIP's and department representatives in fields like Agriculture and Soil Water Conservation. In the first day, an interactive session was held on Maharashtra's current progress and strategies to overcome challenges under Atal Bhujal Yojana. The workshop included informative presentations by NPMU and SPMU officers and experts. In the second day, the participants visited Sonori gram panchayat , Purander block, Pune where a live demonstration was given on "Water Games for Crop Water Budgeting" by FES involving the community . In the closing ceremony, Mrs. Pavneet Kaur, I.A.S, Commissioner & Project Director, Atal Bhujal Yojana, GSDA Pune, Maharashtra, guided officers on meeting targets, including WSP preparation and incentive fund utilization. The program ended with certificate distribution by Mrs. Pavneet Kaur, I.A.S, Commissioner & Project Director, Atal Bhujal Yojana, GSDA Pune, Maharashtra and Mr. Shantanu Garg, Gender & Training Expert.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Umesh S Balpande, Director, NPMU, Atal Bhujal Yojana. Sh. C.B. Shukla, Water Quality Expert, NTSA; Sh. Pramod Jain, State Nodal Officer, SPMU and Sh. Arvind Kaushik, Superintending Engineer, DPMU, Kurukshetra shared the dais during the program. The workshop was attended by the officers and experts of SPMU, DPMU, representatives of DIP including faculties of the training agencies in the State. In his welcome speech, the Director, NPMU emphasized the scheme's overall implementation in Haryana compared to other States from a national perspective and emphasized how all of the milestones could be achieved within the specified time frame to accomplish the scheme's goals. The nodal officer and SPMU experts made presentations on an array of subjects to provide participants with information on all aspects of the scheme. On the second day of the workshop, a live demonstration on “Water Games for Crop Water Budgeting” and hands on training on “Composite Landscape Assessment and Restoration Tool (CLART)”, a GIS based tool developed by the Foundation of Ecological Security (FES), Gujarat were arranged for all the participants at Bhor Saidan Gram Panchayat in Pehowa Block of Kurukshetra district. The participants later interacted with the experts of FES for deeper understanding and discussed its scaling up to Gram Panchayat level. All the participants expressed their satisfaction and usefulness of the State Level workshop in bringing the clarity for gearing up the activities in coming months to achieve the targets. The training programme was ended with the concluding remarks by the Director, NPMU followed by the distribution of certificates to all the participants.

An inter-ministerial committee of 7 officers has visited Dadola and Karhans Gram Panchayats of Bapoli and Samalkha block respectively in Panipat district on 28.08.2023, to study the Water Security Plans (WSPs) of Atal Bhujal Yojana and its integration in the Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDP) of Ministry of Panchayati Raj. The team went for field verification of WSPs, and implementation of demand and supply side interventions & discussed the water security plan prepared by the community. The team consists of the following officers- Sh. Ramit Maurya, Director, MoPR, Sh. Patel, Dy. Commissioner, MoA, Sh. Vinayak Bhatt, Director(GW), MoJS, Sh. S N Dwivedi, Scientist D, CGWB, Sh. J P Singh, Director, NWM, Sh. Jitesh Tatiwal, Deputy Director from Atal Jal and Sh. Tauqeer Khan, Consultant, MoPR. The team interacted with the farmers and beneficiaries and encouraged them to access maximum Govt. schemes for conservation of groundwater in their area. The team appreciated the work done so far in the demand and supply side in above two Atal Jal Gram Panchayats of Panipat District.

A two days Training cum Workshop was organized by SPMU, Gujarat from 24th August to 25th August,2023 on “Scheme Planning & Implementation: Reflection & Way Forward” for the Officers & Experts of DIPs, DPMUs, SPMU, GGRC and other line departments associated with the Atal Jal in the state of Gujarat. Sh. Jitesh Tatiwal, Deputy Director and Dr. K.K. Gaur, Social Development Expert, attended the Programme and participated in its deliberations. The workshop was inaugurated by Sh. K.B. Rabedia, Project coordinator, Atal Jal, Gujarat, who emphasized on the role of DIPs and other stockholders for active participation and successful implementation of Atal Bhujal Programme in the field. As part of the Training cum Workshop, field visits were organized in Ladol Gram Panchayat ,Vijapur Block in district Mahesana, Gujarat. During the field visit, discussions were held with the PGWMC members ,other officials of GP and community members regarding installation of equipment, adoption of micro irrigation , crop diversification and other supply side interventions, highlighting the best practices adopted in Groundwater management in the Agriculture sector. A presentation on CLART App and Water Games on water budgeting were organized by the representatives of the FES, which were highly appreciated by the participants. Total 106 participants attended the workshop.

A pilot study was carried out jointly by NPMU & QCI Team for verification of DLI#5 in identified Gram Panchayats of Yamunanagar district,Haryana on 18th August 2023. During the visit randomly identified piezometers were inspected by the team to check their physical availability on ground.The Team also inspected the water flow meters and rain gauges which were installed in the Gram Panchayats.

A Workshop on IEC, Training and Social modules was organized on 17 th August 2023 at Atal Bhujal Yojana, NPMU with the Social and IEC Experts of all the seven participating states. The objective of the workshop was to develop a clear understanding of IEC, Training & Capacity Building and Social modules in the Atal Jal MIS. The day long interactive workshop was successful in achieving the envisaged objective by demonstrating each module in the Atal Jal MIS along with the Mobile App. An open session was also conducted to seek suggestions on the innovative practices that can be adopted under Atal Jal to showcase the impact of the numerous social and IEC activities and to increase women’s effectual participation in the scheme. At the end of the day, Roles & Responsibilities and timelines were fixed to streamline the process.

Two days State Level training cum workshop on 'Scheme Planning and Implementation: Reflection and Way Forward' was organised in Bengaluru from 9th to 10th August,2023. Day 1 sessions were focused on the reflection of achievements under various DLIs and effectiveness of various IEC and training activities carried out under Atal Bhujal Yojana in Karnataka. Demonstration of water games by Foundation for Ecological Security (FES) was organised as part of the training workshop. Demonstration of CLART App was also given to the participants. On 2nd day, d emonstration of Water Games was held at Heggadihalli GP, Doddaballapura block, Bangalore Rural. Mrs. Neety Nayar, Deputy Director and Sh. Raghvendra Singh, Communication Expert from NPMU participated in the training.

A one day hands-on training cum workshop was organised on the new WSP Module in Bengaluru, Karnataka and Pune, Maharashtra on 24th July, 2023 and 25th July ,2023 respectively. The State level training was attended by around 186 Experts from DPMUs and DIPs in on both the States. Sh. S.K. Sinha , Team Leader, NTSA and Sh. Jitesh Tatiwal, Deputy Director, NPMU had a detailed discussion on the module with the participants and clarified all the doubts regarding WSP updation.

This Programme was inaugurated by Dr. Umesh S. Balpande, Director, NPMU and Dr. Jitendra Jain, Project Director, SPMU , Madhya Pradesh, in the presence of august gathering. Addressing the participants, the Director,NPMU said that the project is in the middle of its implementation period and this is a good time to reflect, ponder and strengthen the shortcomings of the Programme. He praised the efforts made by SPMU, DPMUs, and DIPs for implementing the project in a meticulous way. The level of community participation and institutional development was discussed with the District Implementation Partner. He expressed his satisfaction and emphasized that the momentum gained in the area of community participation needs to be maintained. Sh. Jitesh Tatiwal, Deputy Director, NPMU also imparted a detailed training on updating the Water Security Plan alongwith Dr. R.M. Singh from SPMU. Around 70 participants attended the training , including Officers from CGWB, Forest Department, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, PHE and MNREGA

A one-day training-cum-workshop on Water Security Plan (WSPs) updation under Atal Bhujal Yojana, was held at HIRMI Auditorium Hall, Kurukshetra district, Haryana on 18th July, 2023 in the presence of Mrs Neety Nayar, Deputy Director, NPMU and Ms. Amrita Chandra, Geologist NTSA. A total of 85 participants including experts from SPMU, DPMU & DIPs attended the training. The discussions and issues related to updation of WSPs were deliberated in detail. The importance of community involvement and women participation during the process of WSP preparation were also emphasized.

A one day training -cum-workshop was held on 17.07.2023 on updating Water Security Plans (WSPs) in the updated WSP module of MIS at GWRDC, SPMU office, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Hands on training of the module was given by Sh. Jitesh Tatiwal, Deputy Director, NPMU and Sh. Rajesh Singh, Geologist, NTSA. Officers & experts from SPMU, DPMU and experts, field level workers of DIPs attended the training.

A one day training -cum-workshop was held on 13.07.2023 on updating Water Security Plans (WSPs) in the updated WSP module of MIS at GWD office, Jaipur, Rajasthan . Hands on training of the module was given by Sh. Jitesh Tatiwal, Deputy Director, NPMU, Sh. Rajesh Singh and Sh. Vrushank Upadhyay Geologists, NTSA. Experts from SPMU, DIPs and field level workers of DIPs attended the training.

Sh Subodh Yadav, National Project Coordinator & Joint Secretary (Admin, IC & GW), DoWR, RD & GR, MoJS visited the Atal Jal Gram Panchayats of Banda, Mahoba and Hamirpur districts of Uttar Pradesh from 28.06.23 to 30.06.23 alongwith the Project Director and a team of officers from NPMU. The purpose of visit was to understand the overall work done in water conservation and artificial recharge to groundwater by the State Govt. along with impact of Atal bhujal Yojana. The team visited a number of Amrit Sarovars where pond rejuvenation works are going on through Atal Jal Incentives. The team also visited the sites of other supply side structures like Farm ponds, Roof top rainwater harvesting and soak pits. The National Project Coordinator interacted with villagers regarding water related issues and benefits they have received from Atal Bhujal Yojana. He also highlighted the features of Atal Jal Mobile App and how it can be utilised to understand the groundwater level and quality in a particular gram panchayat. The villagers and farmers were conscious about the usage of drip, sprinkler irrigation and need of water conservation. They were highly aware regarding Atal Jal Mobile App was also. The Project Coordinator and the NPMU team had a meeting with The Principal Secretary, Ground Water Department, Uttar Pradesh and discussed their field observations and progress status of Uttar Pradesh in various aspects under the Scheme.

A meeting was held on 21st June, 2023 under the Chairmanship of Sh Subodh Yadav, National Project Coordinator & Joint Secretary (Admin, IC & GW), DoWR, RD & GR, MoJS to review the progress of the States under Atal Bhujal Yojana. Issues pertaining to incentive fund utilization, procurement of various equipments, data entry through mobile app and training conducted at different level under Atal Bhujal Yojana were critically reviewed and directions were given to the States by the Project Coordinator for expediting the progress of the project.

The training program for FPO’s/progressive farmers and dealers organised by the National Seeds Corporation (NSC) Limited on 15.06.2023. The training program was organised in the premises of CIAE, Bharatpur District of Alwar. On behalf of Atal Bhujal Yojana, Sh.Ankur kumar, Agriculture Expert, DPMU Alwar participated in the training program. During the training, all the participants were given a brief introduction about Atal Bhujal Yojana and its objectives, inputs on water savings & conservation in agriculture/irrigation and detailed information on demand & supply side interventions. The total participants in the training were 130

NPMU & World Bank Team visited the States of Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh to review the progress of incentive fund utilization from 31st May to 09th June, 2023. Senior Officers of the States along with Officers from Line Departments participated in the meeting. The Project Director, NPMU & Task Team Leader, World Bank apprised the importance of timely utilization of incentive fund and diverting the incentive money to implement more demand side activities in the States, which will in turn result in more fund release to the States under DLI#4. The progress of the activities taken up by the line departments were critically reviewed. The Project Coordinators & Project Directors of SPMU directed the line departments to regularly update the stage wise completion of work and submit all the required documents to SPMU for timely utilization of the fund.

The fourth meeting of the National Level Steering Committee (NLSC) of the Atal Bhujal Yojana was held on 26.05.2023 at New Delhi under the Chairmanship of Secretary, Department of Water Resources, RD & GR, Ministry of Jal Shakti. The meeting was attended by Senior Officers of 7 States where the scheme is being implemented as well as Line Departments, who are members of the Committee. Special Secretary, and Joint Secretary, DoWR, RD & GR along with Water Practice Manager, South Asia, World Bank also attended the meeting. The Committee reviewed the overall progress of the scheme and directed the States to expedite all the activities including procurement as well as convergence for the implementation of the interventions proposed under Water Security Plans (WSPs). Secretary, DoWR, RD & GR stated that overall performance of the scheme is satisfactory and the achievements under Disbursement Linked Indicators are also noteworthy, however, the State must now focus on bringing innovative technologies in the area of irrigation in order to increase the efficiency of water. The NLSC Meeting was followed by Workshop on Best Practices on Sustainable Ground Water Management wherein all 7 States presented the best practices on ground water recharge, efficient water use, innovative technologies under irrigation, public disclosure of data etc. followed under Atal Bhujal Yojana in their respective State and how this scheme is bringing change in Ground Water Management with special focus on promotion of demand side interventions.

A meeting cum training on data generation, integration and the demonstration of Atal Jal Mobile Application was conducted at Jaipur, Rajasthan by Ms. Neety Nagi, Deputy Director, NPMU, Atal Bhujal Yojana, and Mr. Suman Kumar, WIMS team. SPMU and DPMU experts were present during the training and DIPs joined through VC. A presentation was also delivered by the officer from NWIC, to deliberate the detailed process of data integration in WIMS. Demonstration of Atal Jal Mobile app was made and related issues were addressed. Observations on the DLI#1 were also shared with the state for improvements in the next round of verification.

Ms. Neety Nagi, Deputy Director, NPMU visited Gandhinagar to discuss about the details of data collection and integration with WIMS. All DPMU’s hydrogeologists and junior geologists attended the meeting along with SPMU officers and GWRDC officers in the presence of the Project Director, SPMU Gujarat. The meeting started with an introduction, followed by presentation regarding ground water monitoring importance, data collection, generation and validation. Data integration in WIMS was explained by the concerned NWIC person by virtually presenting a presentation to DPMU and SPMU staff in Gujarat. A demonstration on "Atal Jal" mobile application including process of data entery in the mobile application, i.e., water level, quality, rain gauge, flow meter, recharge structure was also deliberated in details. Lastly, an open discussion on DLI#1 data disclosure, validation, progress of utilization of equipment installed and its importance, and difficulties faced in the field was thoroughly discussed and explained to the concerned hydrogeologists and junior geologist. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to Ms.Neety Nagi, Deputy Director, by Project Director Sh. R.M Patel. SPMU & MD GWRDC Gandhinagar Gujarat.

A training program for FPO's was organised by the National Seeds Corporation (NSC) Limited in the premises of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kurukshetra, Haryana on 19.04.2023. On behalf of Atal Bhujal Yojana, the experts from DPMU, Kurukshetra, Sh. Rajiv Kumar Sharma, IEC Expert, and Sh. Pankaj Sharma, Agriculture Expert, DIP participated in the training program. During the training, all the participants were given a brief introduction about Atal Bhujal Yojana and its objectives, inputs on water savings & conservation in agriculture/irrigation and detailed information on demand & supply side interventions. A video prepared by SPMU, Haryana under Atal Bhujal Yojana was also displayed during the program for awareness generation about the scheme and its benefits. The total participants in the training were 60.

A meeting cum training on data generation, integration and the demonstration of Atal Jal Mobile Application was conducted at Panchkula, Haryana by Ms. Neety Nagi, Dy. Director of NPMU, Atal Bhujal Yojana, and Ms. Sneha, Team Lead of WIMS. SPMU and DPMU experts were present during the training and DIPs joined through VC. A presentation was also delivered by the officer from NWIC, to deliberate the detailed process of data integration in WIMS. Demonstration of Atal Jal Mobile app was done by Sh. Vivek Tiwari, GIS and IT expert NTSA, NPMU and related issues were addressed. Observations on the DLI#1 were also shared with the state for improvements in the next round of verification.

A one-day workshop was organized on April 12th, 2023, at the Ground Water Informatics Center (Bhujal Bhawan) in Hariharpur, Shaheed Path, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on Atal Jal Mobile Application and to discuss issues regarding data generation and integration under Atal Bhujal Yojana. Ms. Neety Nagi, Dy. Director, NPMU, Atal Bhujal Yojana, Sh. Suman Pandey, Hydrologist, NWIC, and Sh. Anupam, State Nodal Officer, Atal Bhujal Yojana, Uttar Pradesh chaired the sessions. All DPMU Nodal Officers/ IEC Experts, along with Community Mobilizers/FLW of respective DIPs, attended the meeting. Ms. Neety Nagi clarified all the issues related to Atal Jal Mobile App, data disclosure and its usage, Ground Water Resources Mapping, Well Inventory, and Water quality monitoring. Sh. Suman Pandey clarified all the queries pertaining to data integration WIMS.

The one-day training cum workshop on “Data collection and Integration of data to WIMS portal and demo of updated Atal Jal Mobile application” was conducted by Ms. Neety Nagi, Deputy Director, National Program Management Unit (NPMU) at the office of State Program Management Unit (SPMU), Bengaluru, Karnataka, on 12-04-2023. The session began by welcome address by Dr. Shafeeulla, Sr. Geologist, SPMU. He also briefed Ms. Neety Nagi on the status of groundwater monitoring under the project in Karnataka. SPMU and DPMU experts were present during the training and DIPs joined through VC. The groundwater monitoring mechanism, data collection process, validation, and uncertainties faced while collecting and validating the data was explained to the participants. A demonstration of the updated version of the mobile application was given to the participants. Features included in the mobile app was explained in detail to the participants. Ms. Sneha, Data Lead-NWIC made a a presentation on the Integration of Time series In-situ data with WIMS. A total of 60 participants attended the program.

A one-day State-level training was held on April 10, 2023 at the GSDA Training Hall in Pune, Maharashtra, for SPMU, DPMU and DIP officials on the data collection through Atal Jal mobile application and data integration in WIMS. Ms. Neety Nagi, Deputy Director NPMU, guided the officers and experts of SPMU and DPMU during the training. The training focused on the detailed aspects of data collection and integration. A presentation was made by an officer from NWIC, to deliberate the process of data integration in WIMS. Demonstration of Atal Jal Mobile app was done by Sh. Vivek Tiwari, GIS and IT expert NTSA, NPMU and related issues were addressed. Observations on the DLI#1 were also shared with the state for improvements in the next round of verification. The training was conducted online/offline and attended by 55 officials/experts from Maharashtra state and district. Dr. Vijay Pakhmode, Additional Director of the Ground Water Survey and Development Agency in Pune, welcomed and thanked Ms. Neety Nagi.

दिनांक 6 अप्रैल 2023 को WALMI भोपाल (मध्यप्रदेश) में अटल भूजल योजना अंतर्गत DPMU एवं जन अभियान परिषद (DIP) का ब्लॉक स्तरीय एक दिवसीय प्रशिक्षण का आयोजन किया गया | जिसमे मुख्य रूप से स्टेट प्रोजेक्ट मैनेजमेंट यूनिट (SPMU) से डॉ. जितेन्द्र जैन (प्रोजेक्ट डायरेक्टर) एवं श्रीमती नीति नागी डिप्टी डायरेक्टर (NPMU) एवं श्री विवेक तिवारी (NPMU) इस प्रशिक्षण में शामिल हुए | प्रशिक्षण की शुरुआत पंजीयन से की गयी उसके बाद अगला सत्र अटल भूजल योजना में सेक्टर प्रभारी वालिंटियर्स एवं VWSC के दायित्व तथा ग्राम पंचायत स्टार पर भूजल मापन,जल गुणवत्ता का परीक्षण,वर्षा मापी यंत्र वाटर लेवल रिकॉर्डर, फ्लोमीटर एवं FTK का प्रयोग प्राप्त आकड़ो को रजिस्टर में दर्ज करना,मोबाईल ऐप के माध्यम से MIS पर अपलोड करना तथा ग्राम पंचायत में लगाए गए चार्टो पर प्रविष्ट करना को लेकर श्री पवन जैन (MIS एक्सपर्ट) के द्वारा के द्वारा सत्र का संचालन किया गया | अटल भूजल योजना में प्रयोग किये जा रहे यंत्रों को लेकर जिस कंपनी के द्वारा उपकरण उपलब्ध करवाए गए है उनके प्रतिनिधियों के द्वारा सत्र को संचालित किये गए | अगला सत्र श्रीमती नीति नागी डिप्टी डायरेक्टर (NPMU) एवं श्री विवेक तिवारी (NPMU) के द्वारा मोबाइल ऐप ऐप्लिकेशन पर सत्र को संचालित किया गया | तदुपरांत जल बजट अपडेशन,जल सुरक्षा योजना एवं सोशल ऑडिट को लेकर विषय विशेषज्ञों के द्वारा सत्र का संचालन किया गया उसके बाद श्रीमती नीति नागी डिप्टी डायरेक्टर (NPMU) के द्वारा SPMU से प्रोजेक्ट डायरेक्टर,विभिन्न विषय के विशेषज्ञ एवं DPMU के नोडल ऑफिसर की उपस्थिति में मीटिंग रखी गयी, जिसमे प्रदेश की वर्तमान प्रगति, डेटा संग्रह, WIMS में एकीकरण और सत्यापन से संबंधित मुद्दो पर भी चर्चा की गयी उसके बाद कार्यशाला का समापन सभी उपस्थित प्रतिभागियों को धन्यवाद देते हुए किया गया |

Gujarat hosted the 2nd Environment & Climate Sustainability Working Group Meeting from 27th to 29th March, 2023 during the G20 event at Gandhinagar. The Ministry of Jal Shakti participated in the event and sponsored an exhibition of various departments and programs under the Ministry to showcase the best practices. An informative stall of Atal Bhujal Yojana was erected in the exhibition pavilion. A story was narrated about a Gram Panchayat ‘Before and After Atal Jal’ visualized through two models, two photographs and eight posters on the major components and activities. The Atal Bhujal Yojana stall was graced by the presence of Hon'ble Minister of State for Railways & Textile, GoI Smt. Darshana Jardosh, Secretary, MoEF Smt. Leena Nandan, Special Secretary (DoWR, RD & GR), MoJS Smt. Debashree Mukherjee and Joint Secretary (Admin, IC & GW), Sh Subodh Yadav. Foreign delegates, Chairman CWC, Conservator of Forest, Gujarat, dignitaries, officials and representatives from Government of Gujarat also visited the stall. The exhibition of Atal Bhujal Yojana narrated a story of transformation of a Gram Panchayat from water deficient to water efficient through community led sustainable ground water management.

Two-days National level workshop on "Best Practices in Groundwater Management and Exposure visit to Model Village Hivare Bazar" was organized by SPMU, Maharashtra and NPMU, Atal Bhujal Yojana at IISER, Pune, Maharashtra on March 20th and 21st, 2023. Dr V. K. Pakhmade, Joint Director, GSDA, Maharashtra, Shri Sujit Sinha, Team Leader, NTSA, NPMU, New Delhi, and Shri. R. S. Goski, Nodal Officer, Atal Bhujal Yojana, GSDA, Maharashtra, inaugrated the workshop. A total of 120 officers/experts from seven states participated in the workshop . In total, eight experts presented best practices in groundwater management. Padmasree Sh Popatrao Pawar led the participants during exposure visit to Gram Panchayat Hivare Bazar, Block Nagar, District Ahmednagar, and shared his experiences on sustainable groundwater management through community participation. Padam Bhushan Shri Anna Hajara, encouraged the participants to do their best in villages for long-term development during their visit to Gram Panchayat Ralegan Siddhi, Block-Parner, District-Ahmednagar.

Atal Bhujal Yojana received the Excellence Award under the category - "Best Sustainable Water Management" from Hon'ble Minister of Jal Shakti during the event of 16th Water Digest Water Awards 2023, in partnership with UNESCO and supported by the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, on 16th March 2023 at New Delhi

Programme was inaugurated and Chaired by the Director of the Ground Water Department, Uttar Pradesh in the presence of Sh. Sujit Sinha, Team leader, NTSA, NPMU along with participants from seven States under Atal Bhujal Yojana. Opening remarks were given by Sh. V.K Upadhyay, Director, Ground Water Dept., Uttar Pradesh followed by Sh. Sujit Sinha, Dr. P.C Chandra, Retd. Sr. Geophysicist, CGWB and Sh. S.G Bhartariya, Regional Director, CGWB. The lectures and presentations started as per schedule by Sh. Upendra Srivastava, Retd. Sr Hydrogeologist, CGWB, focusing on the sustainability of resources in Village Harpura, Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh). Followed by Sh. Farukh Rehman Khan, State Program Director, Water Aid on Sustaining Sources through Community-led Ground Water Management - Experiences of District Chitrakoot (Uttar Pradesh). Sh. Pushpendra Singh, Convenor Apna Talaab Abhiyan also presented his views on the importance of Farm Ponds and the role of the Community in Behavioral Changes. Ms. Maulika Agarwal presented the scenario of Ground Water in Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Heera Lal, Retired IAS also expressed his views and efforts made by him for Water Conservation during his tenure as Banda District Magistrate. Ms. Nidhi Tripathi expressed his views and the role of Women in Water conservation. An Inter State Interactive session was also conducted which was Chaired by Sh. Sujit Sinha along with Ms. Maulika and Sh. Farukh Rehman Khan to know the practices being taken up by different States for Behavioural changes in Source Sustainability. A cultural program (Braj Ras) in the gracious presence of Sh. Rajesh Kumar Pandey, Spl. Secretary, Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Department, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh presented by Ms. Geetanjali Sharma, a renowned folk dancer who has earned a ton of National and International Awards. Day- 2 comprised two site visits. Firstly the team saw an Amrit Sarovar, In Dist. Lucknow and moved to the site of Padma Shri awardee Sh. Ram Saran Verma, who has changed the cropping pattern with his innovative techniques leading to high yield, with low consumption of water can be termed as the best example of Agro-Economics. Padma Shri awardee Sh. Uma Shankar Pandey, Jal Yodha and his rigorous efforts to make Jakhni Village as Jal Gram also joined for Field Visits.

The District Program Management Unit, Atal Bhujal Yojana, Chittorgarh has participated in the training program for FPO’s organised by the National Seeds Corporation (NSC) Limited on 13.03.2023. The training program was organised in the premises of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rithola, District Chittorgarh Rajasthan. On behalf of Atal Bhujal Yojana, Sh. Satyveer Chauhan Agriculture Specialist and Sh.Ankit Jain IEC Expert, DPMU Chittorgarh from Rajasthan participated in the training program. During the training, all the participants were given a brief introduction about Atal Bhujal Yojana and its objectives, inputs on water savings & conservation in agriculture/irrigation and detailed information on demand & supply side interventions. The total participants in the training were 65.

दिनांक २ मार्च २०२३ को जिला उद्यान विभाग, जनपद बांदा में दो दिवसीय किसान गोष्ठी/ मेला का आयोजन किया गया। किसान मेले का औपचारिक शुभारंभ माननीय सांसद श्री आर. के. पटेल, जिलाध्यक्ष भारतीय जनता पार्टी श्री संजय सिंह, ब्लॉक प्रमुख बडोखरखुर्द श्री सोनू सिंह, पद्मश्री श्री उमाशंकर पाण्डेय, मुख्य विकास अधिकारी श्री बेद प्रकाश मौर्या, डी.डी.उद्यान एवं जिला उद्यान अधिकारी ने संयुक्तन रुप से किया, किसान संगोष्ठी/ मेले मे भूगर्भ जल विभाग की तरफ से स्टाल लगाया गया। तदुपरान्त विभागों द्वारा लगायी गयी प्रदर्शनी का अवलोकन किया गया अवलोकन के दौरान मा. सांसद जी ने अटल भूजल योजना के अन्तर्गत चल रहे कार्यों की जानकारी प्राप्त की और योजना मे तेजी लाने की बात कही।अटल भूजल योजना के माध्यम से जल संचयन व सम्वर्धन के क्षेत्र में सराहनीय कार्य करने पर जलवीर के रूप में प्रति ग्राम पंचायत से एक महिला व एक पुरुष को प्रशंसा प्रमाण पत्र सरकार की मंशा के अनुरूप प्रदान किया जाना है जिसके क्रम मे प्रशंसा प्रमाण पत्र पद्मश्री एवं जल योद्धा श्री उमा शंकर पांडे एवं मुख्य विकास अधिकारी श्री वेद प्रकाश मौर्या के हाथों श्रीमती माया श्री अनिल पांडे श्री राजीव कुमार श्री उमेश तिवारी को जलवीर प्रशंसा प्रमाण पत्र देकर सम्मानित किया गया।

A two days’ National level training cum Workshop on “Participatory Groundwater Management” was organized jointly by the SPMU, Rajasthan and NPMU, New Delhi at Agricultural Research Institute, Jaipur, Rajasthan during February 21-22, 2023. A total of seventy participants including officers/experts from SPMU & DPMU from all the seven participating states participated in the training. The objective of the training programme was to orient the participants about the Participatory Groundwater Management; Institutional Framework; Behavioural Change; Water Resources Planning; Water Games for crop water budgeting, etc. The training programme was inaugurated by Sh. Mahesh Joshi, Hon’ble Minister, PHED, Government of Rajasthan. From SPMU Rajasthan, Sh. Subodh Agarwal, ACS & Project Coordinator, Sh. Surajbhan Singh, Project Director and Dr. V. N. Bhave attended the training. They shared their experiences of ground water management in such a challenging and water stressed state like Rajasthan. From NPMU, Atal Bhujal Yojana, Ms. Neety Nagi, Deputy Director, & Dr. K. K. Gaur, Social Expert, NTSA, NPMU attended the training and delivered presentations in the program. Two invited experts also delivered presentations on the participatory ground water management. Three progressive farmers shared their success stories and enlightened the participants with their challenges and experiences. Water Games, were organized by M/s Foundation for Ecological Security (FES), Gujarat. An exposure visit to Village Laporia, Dudu block, District Jaipur was organized on the second day of the training program. Padamshree Lakshman Singh ji, guided the participants and showcased the efforts made by him in the field of sustainable water management through community participation. He also demonstrated the Chauka system, a water harvesting structure in the field. A visit to the best practices adopted by the farmer beneficiaries for groundwater resource management in Begus Bajeri, Jaipur district was also carried out. Drip and sprinkler irrigation techniques adopted by the farmers were showcased. During the visit, plasticulture & poly houses adopted by the group of farmers on cucumber cultivation became a point of attraction among the participants.

The District Program Management Unit, Atal Bhujal Yojana, Hanumangarh has participated in the training program for FPO’s organised by the National Seeds Corporation (NSC) Limited on 17.02.2023. The training program was organized in the premises of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, ATC farm, National Highway 15, Lunkaransar, District Bikaner, Rajasthan. On behalf of Atal Bhujal Yojana, Sh. Gurmeet Singh, Agriculture Specialist and Sh. Prithvi Raj Saharan, IEC Expert, DPMU Hanumangarh from Rajasthan participated in the training program. During the training, all the participants were given a brief introduction about Atal Bhujal Yojana and its objectives, inputs on water savings & conservation in agriculture/irrigation and detailed information on demand & supply side interventions. The total participants in the training were 68.

A training program for FPO's was organised by the National Seeds Corporation (NSC) Limited in the premises of Saina Nehwal Training Center, Hisar, Haryana on 17.02.2023. On behalf of Atal Bhujal Yojana, the experts from SPMU, Haryana viz. Dr Rizvi, Agriculture Expert, SPMU; Sh. Deepak Kumar, IEC Expert, SPMU; Sh. Parul IEC Expert, DPMU Sirsa and Sh. Arshdeep Agriculture Expert, DIP of district Sirsa participated in the training program. During the training, all the participants were given a brief introduction about Atal Bhujal Yojana and its objectives, inputs on water savings & conservation in agriculture/irrigation and detailed information on demand & supply side interventions. The officers of District Program Management Unit, Atal Bhujal Yojana, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, participated in the training program for Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) organized by the National Seeds Corporation (NSC) Limited on 16.02.2023. On behalf of Atal Bhujal Yojana, Sh. Dipak Karankal, Agriculture Specialist, DPMU, Jalgaon and Sh. Ashish Bhawane, Geologist, Aasha Kiran Mahila Vikas Sanstha, a DIP engaged under Atal Bhujal Yojana for Jalgaon district of Maharashtra participated in the training program. During the training, all the participants were given a brief introduction about Atal Bhujal Yojana, information on water security plans prepared at Gram Panchayat level in the district, adoption of efficient irrigation practices by the farmers for demand side management of groundwater and convergence of funds from the Government Departments. In addition, Audio/Visuals prepared under the scheme were also displayed to the participants for awareness generation about the scheme and its benefits. The program was attended by around 60 progressive farmers.

Two days of training cum workshop on 3rd & 4th Feb 2023 was organized by SPMU, Gujarat at the Conference hall of Kachchh University, Bhuj, Kachchh District, Gujarat on “Participatory Groundwater Management". The main objective of the training was to focus on community participation for groundwater management. The training also emphasized on the involvement of CRPs (Community Resource persons) in the Gram Panchayats to create awareness, sensitization, community mobilization, data collection, dissemination, behavioral change etc. within the community, on all the aspects of Atal Bhujal Yojana. A one-day full day training session on 3rd Feb, 2023 was followed by exposure visit at Gram Panchayat- Mota Angiya and Nana Angiya, Block Nakhatrana, District Kachchh on 4th Feb, 2022 to share the best practices and interflow of knowledge amongst the participating states. The officers and experts from all the seven states under Atal Bhujal Yojana, participated in the training cum workshop under overall supervision of Sh. Jitesh Tatiwal, Deputy Director and Sh. P. C. Kumawat, Agriculture Expert, NPMU, Atal Bhujal Yojana.

The third meeting of the National Level Steering Committee (NLSC) of the Atal Bhujal Yojana was held on 19.01.2023 at New Delhi under the Chairmanship of Secretary, Department of Water Resources, RD & GR, Ministry of Jal Shakti. The meeting was attended by Senior Officers of 7 States where the scheme is being implemented as well as some line Departments. Special Secretary, and Joint Secretary, DoWR, RD & GR along with Principal Secretary, Uttar Pradesh and Secretaries from Karnataka and Gujarat were also present. The Committee reviewed the overall progress of the scheme and directed the States to expedite convergence for the implementation of the interventions proposed under Water Security Plans. (WSPs). Completion of majority of the WSPs was praised by the Secretary and at the same time it was emphasized that this is an iterative process and the WSPs are to be updated annually in consultation with the community. The Special Secretary, DoWR, RD & GR scored the importance of continued engagement with the community with a focus on the aim that the WSPs are to be owned by the Communities. For that regular IEC and awareness activities are to continue. The NLSC Meeting followed by wrap up of Mid Term Review by World Bank, wherein Task Team Leader for the Scheme summarized the month long Mission in terms of overall and state wise progress and challenges. All seven states also presented the best practices under Atal Bhujal Yojana which are happening in their respective State and how this scheme is bringing change in Ground Water Management.

"The World Bank & NPMU, Atal Jal team visited various Gram Panchayats under Tumkur district as part of the mid-term review mission of Atal Jal implementation in Karnataka. Sh. Ramachandraiah.BG, Project Director, Smt. Sujatha HL, Joint Director, Agriculture and staff from SPMU; Nodal officer, DPMU, Tumkur and Officials from line departments and other staff were present. Community interaction was held at Dabbegatta gram panchayat in Madhugiri block of Tumkur district on 16th January 2023. Team from World Bank and NPMU interacted with the community on their involvement in Atal Bhujal Yojana towards ground water management. Community briefed the team on the process of preparing water security plan and the progress with implementation so far through Participatory Rural Appraisal activity. The team also interacted with the community at different sites where supply and demand side activities have been taken up under convergence with line departments as well as Atal Jal incentive funds. A meeting of World Bank team with the Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayat, Tumkur and senior officials of line departments was held on 16 January 2023. World Bank team discussed the strategies for implementation of activities proposed in Water Security Plans through convergence with line departments in detail. A meeting was also held with the Project Coordinator, Sh. C. Mryuthyunjaya Swamy on 17th January, 2023 to appraise him about the overall status of the scheme implementation in the state so far, with a request to expedite the activities under the scheme in Karnataka state. The meeting was attended by Mr. Satya Priya, Sr. Water Resource Management Specialist; Mr Kullappa, Sr. Water & Sanitation Specialist from World Bank and Sh. Pratul Saxena, Project Director, NPMU; Ms. Neety Nagi, Deputy Director; Ms. Madhumanti Roy, Deputy Director from NPMU and SPMU team, Karnataka."

"The Mid-Term Review Mission of the World Bank was held on January 12, 2023 at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. World Bank Representative along with NPMU team held discussions with the officers of SPMU, Line Departments, DIPs , SIRD, etc. A wrap-up meeting was also held with the Principal Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources. During the discussions, it was suggested that due efforts are needed to be imparted for optimum utilization of Incentive amount released to the state under the scheme. Similarly, progress made under DLI#3 & DLI#4 i.e. convergence of funds and enhancement of area under efficient irrigation system is also required to be increased and accordingly. Dissemination of IEC materials developed under the scheme, shall be prioritized for creating awareness among the community"

"Under the Mid Term Review Mission, the World Bank and NPMU team visited SPMU Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on 10th January 2023. Important issues pertaining to the State were discussed in detail including the Fiduciary aspect, incentive fund utilization, convergence, Training and IEC progress and progress review of various activities of DIP (District Implementation Partner). Representatives from various line departments, State level officers, SPMU/DPMU officers/officials, Subject experts and District Implementation Partner (DIP) officials were present in the meeting. The wrap-up meeting was chaired by Mr. S.N. Mishra (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary, Water Resource Department (WRD) Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, with NPMU, SPMU and World Bank representatives regarding follow-up action to achieve project objectives and targets. The team also visited the Berkhedi Guru Gram Panchayat, block Sagar, district Sagar and interacted with Sarpanch and gram panchayat’s people regarding their Water Security plan and proposed interventions. The team also met DM/CEO Zila panchayat & officers of the line department to discuss the overall progress of Atal Jal in Sagar District. On the second day i.e. on 11th January 2023, the team visited Gram Panchayat Bachalon, block Sagar District Sagar to monitor the field activities and interacted with the VWSC members, women's, and representatives from the community.

Dated: 05/01/2023 The World Bank team and the Officers of NPMU, New Delhi visited 2 Gps of Maharashtra State. GP. Khedi Gowargondi and GP. Khrusapar in Katol and Narkhed Blocks of Nagpur district, Maharashtra for Mid Term review of the implementation of Atal Bhujal Yojana. They held a meeting with the District Collector of Nagpur and discussed key issues of the scheme focusing on convergence under DLI#3. A meeting was also held with all Senior geologists from DPMUs and DIP coordinators. Detailed discussions were held on various aspects of the scheme. Dr. C. P. Bhoyar, Nodal officer of Atal Bhujal Yojana, SPMU, Maharashtra presented the progress of the Atal scheme. Shri Chintamani Joshi, Commissioner & Project Director, Atal Bhujal Yojana, GSDA, SPMU Maharashtra facilitated the World Bank team members Sh. Satya Priya (TTL), Ms. Janet, (WRMS), Sh. M. Kullappa (SWSS) and NPMU dignitaries Sh. Pratul Saxena, Project Director & Dr. Umesh Balpande, Director, NPMU. On 6th January 2023 The World Bank Team and the officers of NPMU held a meeting in Mumbai with all line Departments of the State under the Atal Bhujal Yojana on the virtual platform. Sh. Rajesh Kumar (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Rural development and panchayat Raj of Maharashtra, holding the additional charge of Principal Secretary W.S.S.D. along with the Commissioner GSDA and all senior officers were present in the meeting. The progress of convergence of funds by various line departments/schemes for the year 2022-23 under DLI # 3 and targets under V/s. achievement under DLI # 4 was discussed in detail. 5th January 2023

World Bank and NPMU team visited Gujarat during 3-4th January 2023 with an objective to assess the ground level situation on all the aspects of the scheme under the Mid-Term review mission. The visit comprised of the field visit and meeting with the high-level officials and SPMU, DPMUs and DIP team. On the first day, the team visited recharge structure at Sant Sarovar, Piezometer site at Badpura GP in Gandhinagar district and Recharge Tube well system at Umta GP in Mehsana district. In addition, the team also held interaction with PGWMC members at Badpura GP and Laxmipura GP to ascertain awareness about Atal Bhujal Yojana and the process of formulation of water security plan including the proposed interventions for sustainable groundwater management. The interactions with the participants also revealed that there is good sensitization amongst the women. The team also interacted with the District Collector, Mehsana and representatives from the line departments on the technical aspects. One of the DIPs, Arid communication & Technologies, Bhuj made a presentation of sharing of best practices applied by them for preparation of WSPs in Nakhatrana taluka of Kachchh district. The team felt that the alternative practice needs to be evaluated against the practice of WSP preparation as envisaged in the MIS of Atal Jal. On the second day, the team held detailed discussions with the Project Director on the fiduciary aspects. The team members also interacted with SPMU and DPMU experts to ensure adherence to timelines of different activities. The team also held a wrap up meeting with the Special Secretary (WR) and Project Coordinator, Atal Jal Gujarat, Additional Secretary & Chief Engineer (P), Additional Secretary & Chief Engineer (CG) along with the Project Director Atal Jal and Adviser GWRDC.

The World Bank mid-term review of Rajasthan State was held from 21st to 22nd December 2022 under Atal Bhujal Yojana. The World Bank and NPMU team visited two Gram Panchayats in Dausa district viz. Khanwas Gram Panchayat of Nangal Rajawatan block and Alooda Gram Panchayat in Lawan Block. The team had detailed discussions with Gram Panchayat officials and VWSC members on the preparation of the water budget and water security plan for their respective Gram Panchayat. The team also conducted meetings with officials of Line Departments at Dausa.

Anil Das (Operation Specialist - World Bank), Smt. Akansha Kushwaha (Assistant Director - NPMU, Atal Jal), Sh. Basant Pandey, Finance Expert, NPMU, Sh. Jitender NPMU Atal Jal, visited the Jhaguri & Dholi Gram Panchayat, Yamuna nagar (Haryana) with the facilitation of SPMU, DPMU & DIP team. During the visit, the inauguration of the Piezometer was done by the World Bank & NPMU team in Gram Panchayat Jhaguri & Dholi. The Water Quality test & use of Water level indicator was done by the VWSC members Smt. Santosh Devi in Jhaguri GP and Smt. Reetu Devi. The community members also discussed the Water Security Plan interventions with the team. The World Bank Team & NPMU team also visited the fields of progressive farmers and saw the implementation of Drip & Sprinkler. After the field visit, the World Bank & NPMU team with the facilitation of SPMU, DPMU & DIP team had a meeting with the line departments in the chairmanship of DC Yamuna nagar. From SPMU, Sh.
