This component is for strengthening institutional arrangements and capacities in the states for enabling them to sustainably manage their groundwater. The components envisage strengthening institutional capacity at all levels including states, districts, blocks and gram panchayats, enhance community participation in preparation of water security plan, improving skills and inculcating behavioural change through information, education and communication towards sustainable groundwater management. Total outlay under the component is Rs. 1400 Crore contributed by Government of India.
